Frequently Asked Questions
Naturopathy:
How long is a Naturopathic Consultation?
The first consultation is 1 hour. A follow up consultation is usually 30 minutes.
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring all recent blood test and investigation results. I also recommend bringing any medications you take and any supplements you are using. This will allow me to create a safe prescription for you, that will not interfere with medications or result in higher than necessary doses of naturopathic medicines.
How often will I need to see you?
Each case is different, and a treatment plan will be discussed at the end of the initial consultation. Usually I see patients for an initial consultation, then a follow up within 2-3 weeks. Depending upon progress and what your goals are, a management plan usually involves a 4-6 weekly check up, and then longer intervals for wellbeing. A common long term management plan is often a check-up at 6 months and then 12 months, unless symptoms return.
How long will it take to see results?
This can vary from case to case, however, our aim is for each patient to be on the path to wellbeing before their 2nd consultation. So, within 2-3 weeks I want to be seeing results for our patients. Long term goals will, obviously, take more time to achieve.
What if I am unsure about Naturopathic medicine being suitable for my case?
It is always useful to enquire if you are not sure. Feel free to email me directly at; kirrilyhill@gmail.com and we can discuss your individual case.
Can I see a Naturopath if I also see a doctor?
Absolutely! In fact, I often recommend patients to visit their GP if it has been a while. It is very important to make sure I do not prescribe naturopathic medicines that interfere with your prescribed pharmaceuticals so please tell me if you are seeing a doctor and what medications you take.
